On Wednesday the 17th of May, the GTB, along with the Two Wells Band, Playford City Concert Band, and Trinity College Senior Band, PLUS special guest and Principal Trombonist of the London Symphony Orchestra Peter Moore, played a great combined concert at the Starplex Hewitson Theatre! The evening was a fantastic opportunity in multiple ways. In particular, it was lots of fun to work with so many other local musicians in playing some combined pieces, while also getting to hear their own individual and unique sets that spanned a wide range of styles. It was also amazing to accompany Peter Moore in the Neil Sedaka classic Solitaire as a band, as well as hearing several solo performances by him throughout the evening. Our trombonists especially enjoyed this fantastic experience! Finally, the night was another great opportunity not only to show off what we have been working on as a band, but also demonstrating the larger power of community banding in the region and the incredible things that can happen when we join forces.

As always, we really appreciate everyone that was able to make it to this show, and we hope you had as much fun as we did. Now, the band is firing on all cylinders to prepare for our Civic Centre concert on July 28th. More info to come very soon, but start getting excited now. It is going to be a fantastic night where you will see the band play like never before!
